If you leave it out, some GPS systems (we’re looking at you, Apple Maps 👀) might send you to the Courtland Center Mall or a random gas station. Neither has axes or escape rooms, unfortunately.

How do escape rooms work?
Imagine this: you and your team are secret agents on a mission—surrounded by puzzles, hidden clues, and a ticking clock. You’ve got 60 or 75 minutes to crack the case, solve the story, and come out victorious. It’s less about “escaping” and more about unlocking your inner spy skills. As many as you need! At Spymaker, we offer unlimited clues so you can play your way. Want to fly solo with zero help? Go for it. Need a few nudges along the way? We’ve got your back. Our game coaches are here to keep the fun going, no matter how much (or little) help you want. You just simply have to ask.
Nope! At Spymaker, we believe you’re the boss of your own adventure. We won’t drop unsolicited clues unless you’re really stuck and your time is slipping away fast, even then we will just advise you that you have unlimited clues. Otherwise, you call the shots—just ask when you’re ready for a nudge!
No worries—we won’t leave you locked in forever (promise)! If time runs out, your coach will provide with options and then send you off with high-fives and a new obsession. At Spymaker, it’s not just about escaping—it’s about the laughs, the teamwork, and the story you’ll tell afterward. All about the MEMORIES!!
Feeling this close to victory? We’ve got you. For a small “time traveler’s fee” per person, you can unlock an extra 20 minutes to finish your mission—if availability and staffing allow. Just ask your game coach. But use it wisely… the clock waits for no one (unless you bribe it).

Our rooms are built for ages 8 and up—with a few guidelines:
👨👧 Under 13? An adult must play with the group.
🧑🎓 Ages 14–15? An adult needs to stay on-site (but doesn’t have to join the game).
🎉 Ages 16–17? You’re good to go solo—but a parent or guardian still needs to sign your waiver.
Each room may have its own theme-based age suggestion, so double-check before booking. Either way, we’ll make sure your team is set for fun!

Are there age limits for axe throwing at Spymaker Axe?
Yes—for safety (and sanity), we’ve got some age guidelines in place:
🎯 Ages 10–17 must be accompanied by a participating adult or guardian in the throwing lane.
✅ All participants must sign a waiver (a parent or guardian must sign for minors).
👶 Under 10? Not quite axe-ready yet—but we’ll be here when they are!
Age is just a number, but safety is key. Our coaches will make sure every guest—young or young-at-heart—has a safe and unforgettable axe-perience. Whether you’re 10 or 100, we’ve got a lane waiting for you.
We can host groups from 1 to 64—so whether it’s a date night, birthday bash, or full-on team showdown, we’ve got room for you!

Think comfort and safety when dressing for axe throwing.
Here’s what we recommend:
- Closed-Toe Shoes: This is a must. Safety first, always! You need to protect those toes in case an axe drops. Plus, you’ll be standing and moving around, so comfortable footwear is a must.
- Comfortable Clothing: Wear something that allows you to move freely. Remember, throwing an axe involves a full range of motion, so restrictive clothing could impact your throwing prowess.
- Avoid Loose Accessories: Dangling necklaces, bracelets, and other loose accessories might get in the way of your throw. It’s best to keep the bling to a minimum.
Yes, you can—but it has to play by the rules. Your axe must:

If it passes inspection, you’re good to throw! If not, no worries—we’ve got plenty of axes that are lane-approved and ready for action.
Do you offer axe throwing leagues or tournaments?
You bet we do! Whether you’re a total rookie or a bullseye beast, our leagues are built for fun, friendly competition, and serious throwing vibes.

Do you serve food?
Yes! We partner with Cottage Inn Pizza to bring delicious eats straight to your lane or escape room. We’ve got a special menu just for Spymaker guests!

Just call ahead, make your reservation, and place your food order—we’ll have it delivered shortly after you check in.
- Can I order it myself?
Unfortunately, no. For delivery to our venue, orders must go through us—but don’t worry, we’ll make it easy.

Yes—absolutely! We love hosting events outside our regular hours to better fit your team’s schedule.
To reserve an off-hours experience (for escape rooms, axe throwing, or both):
You’ll need a minimum of 10 paid guests
Off-hour bookings are considered premium services, so pricing may vary slightly
We’ll work with you to make sure everything is prepped and perfect!

Large Party & Off-Hours Reservations
Booking for 16 or more guests or requesting a time outside regular business hours? A 50% deposit is required to reserve your spot.
Here’s how it works:
The 50% deposit is non-refundable and secures your time, space, and staff.
On the day of your event, you’ll be charged half price for each guest who arrives, up to your reserved count.
Guests beyond your reservation will be charged full price.
No-shows won’t be charged again, but their deposits are forfeited.
💡 Example:
Book for 20 → pay a deposit equal to 50% of 20 guests.
If 18 arrive, you pay half price for 18 guests.
The 2 no-shows = deposit kept, no extra charges.
If 22 arrive, you pay half price for 20 + full price for 2 extras.
You’re only paying the non-refundable deposit for your reserved group. Nothing extra for no-shows, and full price only kicks in if your group grows.

Time matters at Spymaker—whether you’re chasing clues or chasing bullseyes. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, we may have to shorten or reschedule your session depending on the day’s bookings.
To keep your game on point, arrive at least 10 minutes early. That gives us time to check waivers, brief your group, and get you fully prepped for fun.
Can I get a refund?
We have a no-refund policy due to the time-sensitive nature of our events. If you let us know at least 24 hours in advance, we’re happy to help you reschedule.
If you don’t show or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice:
Your deposit may be forfeited (not applied to a future booking)
If we still do not hear from you within 48 hours after your scheduled time, you’ll be charged the for the full amount to card on file.

Yes! For all standard bookings (escape rooms or axe throwing), we require a deposit equal to one admission to hold your spot. If you reserve online the deposit is 25%.
This helps us prep your game and make sure everything’s ready when you arrive.
